    buy by some people. The names of the potatoes grown locally are, Shamrocks, Champions, Kerrspinks, Updates, Arran Banners, and Golden Wonder.
    Starch was made out of potatoes at one time. They were peeled first and cut into thin slices and hot water was then put on them. They were left there till the juice would come out of them. This starch is made by very few women for it is cheaper to buy.
