  1. There is a Lime Kiln in Carryacrump and it is worked at present by a man named Mr Hickey. The stones are quarried near the Kiln. Out of the quarry the stones were got to build the Deep Water quay in Cobh about fifty years ago. The stones were drawn to Farside by horses and carts. They were taken up from Farside by small boats.
    There is another Lime Kiln in Ballyfin and it is idle at present but it was worked about fifty years ago.
    There is another Lime Kiln in Barrie Killa and stones are drawn out of it for the roads around this District. About sixty years houses were built with these stones.
