  1. One night two Passage men were coming home to Passage West from Cork. They were decidedly "maith - go - leor" having spent the evening in a public house drinking "not wisely but too well". They agreed to walk home but when they got a little bit beyond Rochestown they felt too tired to go any further.
    Somehow, they got into a field and they found a donkey. One of the men had a brilliant idea and suggested getting up on the donkey's back. So they mounted.
    The donkey began to walk and the men congratulating themselves stuck on. When morning came they were very surprised to find that they were still in the same place. On investigating they found that the donkey was tied to a stake and that
