    Sore-throat.
    Long ago if a person got a sort-throat a potato was washed and boiled. Then it was mashed and put up to the sore-throat which it cured immediately.
    Whooping-Cough.
    If a child having whooping-cough was put three times under a donkey it would not whoop.
