   stretches away to the west and south while on the left the wooded slopes of East Ferry please the eye with their varied hues of green and brown and yellow.
   When I saw it last the land was basking in the Autumn sun. Leaves fell silently from the trees and the birds' song was hushed in sympathy with the dying year. From the summit one caught glimpses of sea-blue through the sadly reduced foliage of the trees on the hillside and in the valley below. The harvest fields were bare and peace lay like a mantle over the land. Overlooking all this pleasant scene stands a large well-kept farmhouse, such as might well have been the "Big House" of an age that is gone. Here it was that the Liberator attended school and here in this same
