    A bunch of ribbons by his side
    And the Cobh boys to be his bride

    They then knock at the doors and generally the people of the house give them money and they divide it between them. It is generally spent on giving themselves a treat.
    Shrove Tuesday
    On Shrove Tuesday in every house pancakes are eaten. Children are afraid to go out as boys throw squibs and crackers on the streets.
