For a pain in the ear the heart of an onion stuffed into the ear believed to cure it. Wadding dipped in whisky or wadding dipped in castor-oil were also used. When an ash stick is burning, juice comes out of it. That is used by putting it into the cavity of the ear.
A toothache was cured by putting a frog into the mouth and making him croak. The old people used pepper also for the toothache. When chilblanes break the powder a "pucapile" was used.
