  1. The people long ago had three meals a day their breakfast, dinner, and supper. They would do a day's work before their breakfast.
Their food consisted of stirabout, skimmed milk, and potatoes.
The people used to sit round the table which was placed near the window.
Salt meat was eaten once a day at their dinner and if they had any left they would keep it for their supper.
They used to eat their breakfast at nine o clock their dinner at two and their supper about eight o clock. Mugs were the vessels used before cups.
