- OLD STORY
Long ago a farmer names Mr Cullinane had men employed to cut corn. When dinner time came the servant girl brought their dinner. While the men were eating it the girl was making stooks. Suddenly a whirlwind came and swept her into the air and she was never seen again. One night a man named Howard was passing home and he saw a girl brushing her hair. He took the brush and comb from her and took it home. When he was in bed next night he heard a knock on the window and he asked who was there and the voice answered “Give me back my brush and comb.” It is said that it was the girl who was taken into the air. That field was ever after called the “Máireguan"- Bailitheoir
