- MOYGUE (Adjoining Killabraher)
A tyrant and priest hunter named “Boles” resided in an estate in this downland. His acts of tyranny were innumerable. There is a field in Moygue still called the “The Bleach”. He used to employ many men bleaching linen. One of his employees on one occasion stole a piece of linen. Boles found it out and got him hanged from the shaft of a car. At another time he found someone trespassing on his land. He got a shears and cut off his two ears.He is supposed to have done his utmost to hunt down all Papists. - EOGHAN RUADH Ó SUÍLEABHÁIN (The Poet)
Eoghan Ruadh lived and worked (as a labourer) in Moygue for a considerable time. He afterwards taught in a “Hedge School” somewhere in the vicinity of Dromina
