  1. Ballynockin Barracks in the parish of Burnfort were burned a the time of the Fenian rising. The Fenians captured it from the police and then they burned the building.

  2. There was a fire in Mr. Cronins yard at the "Pike" about twelve months ago. About thirty tons of hay and twenty tons of straw was burned and there was a "loft" over the hay in which there was oats and some of it was destroyed also. No one knows how the burning occurred. Mr. Cronin was
