  1. Long ago a priest by the name of Father Kelleher lived in the parish of Kilshannig. This priest had a cure for every disease. When he died he was buried in Newberry Graveyard, and people used to come to pay rounds at his grave and many were cured of their ailments.
    At that time a poor woman who had not any clock and a long journey to go left home to go to Newberry with her son at midnight. As they journeyed along they met a woman who asked them for a drive. They were only too glad to have her for company.
