  1. On the 13th May my father took a colt to Mallow fair.
    He was not long waiting in the street when a buyer came to him and asked "How much for the animal". My father replied "£38".
    The buyer then told him that he would give him £29 but my father would not agree. After about twenty minutes' argument the buyer said that he would give him £34.10 and no more. But my father would not agree. The buyer then said, "Hold your hand, Sir". My father did so and the buyer struck
