    It is thought unlucky to 'remove' on Monday, Wednesday or Friday.

    It is thought unlucky to 'remove' on Monday, Wednesday or Friday.
    It is regarded as unlucky also, to get married on those days.
    Some people don't like paying out money on Monday, as they say it means paying out money for the week.
    Some people advise against cutting your hair - getting a hair cut - on Friday, as they say the hair wont grow again.
    It is thought a good omen if the sun shines on the day parties get married, and a good sign if the rain falls on a corpse at its burial.
    "Happy is the bride that the Sun shines on.
    Happy is the corpse that the rain beats on".
    If a growing boy or girl was seen entering a house, with something on its shoulder, such as a spade or shovel etc, the old people of 50 years ago, would order the child out again to remove the object off the shoulder before entering else the child may not grow any more.
    When cows calved it was the custom, and is still the custom in districts in this locality, to throw Holy Water on the cow before her first milking, while a Blessed Candle was used to burn the hair off the cow's udder.
