  1. From Kinsale town ferry roads run across the Barony of Courceys for seven miles to Garrestown Strand. Thence stretching southwards towards the Atlantic Ocean in the Old Head of Kinsale. The headland is populated up to the hill but beyond that is virgin solitude. Up there the traveller is alone with the vast blue sea and sky. Upon these cliffs over twenty eight hundred years ago, Cearmna the Iberian King of Southern Ireland reigned for forty years until his cousin came and slew him in battle.
