  1. This is a story about a priest that was hunted during the penal days between the date of 1709 and 1710. While a Carmelite was attending a sick call in Cork Street he was surprised by soldiers known as "Buffs and Blues". Escaping from the house the priest ran through Market Lane along by the Holy Stone and Market Street. Passing a shop owned by a protestant named John Heard he appealed for help.
