There is a weed called Dannacian[?] which is seen growing in bunches on ditches. If a leaf was plucked off this plant a white juice is seen. This liquid is poisonous, and it got its name on account of the white juice being in the weed.
The plant called besom, when the seeds are left in hot water for a quarter of an hour, so that it is allowed to draw is drunk to cure rheumatism.
Many sufferers have been cured by these herbs.
