  1. A nailer worked in Ballydehob about 50 years ago. His name was James Punch. He made nails for boots, boats, and for house-work. His forge was about where the Post-Office is now. Factory made nails killed his trade, and he and his family emigrated to America.
A weaver worked in Ballydehob over 50 years ago. His name was Riardon. He lived at the Eastern end of the town oppossite where Mr. Michael Minihane lives now. The weavers loom was in the house for some time. It is 50 years at least since he worked.
