a florin is given. When the bargain is made the buyer des not spit into the sellers hand; when the animals are sold they are marked with a chalk, or a scissors, a stick is stuck into mud, and the mud is rubbed across the animals back. There are no great fairs held now, but in former times the fairs held on the 29th of June and on August 15th were the great fairs of the district. People used to come from far off places not to buy or sell, but for a day's sport.
