  1. My townland is Skehanore and it is in the Parish of Kilcoe, and in the Barony of the West Division of West Carbery.
    There are twenty six families, and one hundred and seventeen people in the townland.
    Hickey is the family name most common.
    All the houses are slated exept three that are thatched. The townland got its name from a place in the Rinn called the Cill where there is a bush, and it is said that there is gold hidden under that bush.
