    The wren, the wren, the king of all birds,
    St. Stephen's Day she was caught in the furze
    All though she is little her family is great
    Rise up landlady and give us a treat.
    II
    This is the wren you may plainly see.
    She is well mounted on a holly tree
    With a bunch of ribbons by her side,
    And the Ballydehob boys to be her guide.
