    11
On the twelth of December a day of renown
McGrath and his keeper they left Lorgan town,
A breeze on the channel quick drove them o'er,
On the thirteen they landed on the fair English shore.
    111
And when they arrived in the great London town,
The sportsmen of England they all gather round,
And one of the gentlemen gave a ha, ha,
Is that the great dog they call Master McGrath?
    1v
And one of the gentlemen standing around,
Said "what" do we care about you or your Irish greyhound,
Or you or your greyhound we don't give a straw,
We will humble the pride in your Master McGrath.
    v
Lord Lorgan stepped forward and said gentlemen,
If there is any amongst you that has money to spend,
For your nobles of England I don't give a straw,
Here's ten thousand to one upon Master McGrath.
    v1
The rose stood uncovered the great English pride,
Her owner and keeper stood by her side,
The hare was let off and the crowd did hurrah,
With the pride of all England against Master McGrath.
