  1. There is a forge in our district and it is situated beside the tarred road. Michael Coyle is the owner of this forge at present but before him the work was carried on in by his father, namely Paddy Coyle. Pady Coyle was a very generous man and he was also a very good horse doctor and during his life he was constantly dosing and curing horses with different sorts of sickness all over the countryside. He was killed by the Black and Tans while he was attending a sick horse in the neighbouring
