  1. The local fairs are held in Athlone, Brideswell and Knockcroghery. The same batch of buyers attends the Athlone and Knockcroghery fairs, Brideswell is a new fair, and is not very popular yet, therefore neither neither buyers nor sellers attend in good numbers. The buyers which attend Athlone and Knockcroghery come a long distance, still they are well known to the local farmers, namely, Messers Birmingham, Dolan Bros, Dehen, Flynn, Hudson, and Abraham.
