    Which causes my uneasiness increasing my calamity
    And leaves me bewailing without means to console
    Shall I bid adieu for ever to the lovely banks of Laune
    And to Cappaleen Bawn Cross where all the boys resort
    Likewise these pretty lasses so bonny sweet and charming
    To see me right and morning they always come forth
    Never more shall I see my own dear native country
    The fertile plains of Ballinagree and sweet Mushera More
    That sweet enchanted valley when I'm stationed since my infancy
    With fondness still increasing I daily do adore.
    I earnestly now beg of the Blessed Queen of Angels
    That thou wouldst intercede to return me once more
    And for my false transactions I'll offer retribution
    I fervently now promise thee in future if I'm spared must be
    To spend my life exemplarily, I pray thee interpose
    Beseeching they Son Jesus to be gracious unto me
    And if death should intervene to grant peace to my soul
