    Nearly all the people around here get married in Shrove. When they used get married long ago ago all the people used go to the bride's home. They used stay there all night singing and dancing. It is unlucky to get married in the month of May. The following are old sayings about marriages:-

    and Something new.

    Thursday for crosses
    Friday for losses
