    There is a man in Castletown Bere and his name is John Mahoney. One day he went out fishing. When he was coming home he went into the public-house and he bought a half pint of whiskey. When he went home he sat near the fire and he took the bottle out of his pocket He took a drink of it and when he was putting it back in his pocket it fell and got broken. There was a hole in the floor and a mouse came up out of it and took a drop of it. He went down again, and came up and took another drop. He went down again and he came up, and he stood up on his hind legs and (and) he said
