  1. There is a mass rock in the land of Mr. O'Driscoll in the townland of Mohona, in the parish of Aughadown, where mass was celebrated in the penal times.
    The rock is still to be seen. There are shelves in it that served as an altar. There is also a blessed well carved in a rock near by, and it was supposed to be blessed long ago. It never went dry. A short distance away there is a large stone where someone was always watching for fear the soldiers would come and kill the priest.
