  1. It is a sign of rain if the sky is dark or cloudy or if the moon looks pale or the stars are dim or if there is a circle round the moon.
    If a rainbow appears in the sky it is a sign of rain. If the cat sits by the fire or the dog eats grass rain will follow. If the birds fly low or if the seagulls come inland it is another sign of rain.
    If there is a blue blaze in the fire or when the wind blows south west. When the soot falls from the chimney and when blue light is seen in the fire it is a sign of rain.
