    (2) The murder at Doire Liath
It is said that a rate collector was passing Derryleigh Bridge one night with the rates she had collected when she was attacked by a robber who struck her with an iron bowl. He threw her body into the lake and it was afterwards found there. The robber was found out and when he was going to be hanged he said to the audience that the gold was hidden in Cuileannach.
