    Down in the lowlands a poor boy did wander.
    Down in the lowlands a poor boy did roam.
    By his friends he was neglected, he seemed so rejected,
    Cried the poor sailor boy so far away from home.
    The night it grew dark and loudly roared the thunders,
    Through lightening and thunder our ship had overcome.
    My hands I grasped around the mast
    Being in the billows I'd been cast
    Cried the poor little boy so far away from home.
