  1. There are many stories told of the Holy Family and their adventures while fleeing from Herod to the land of Egypt.
    This is one of the stories I've told locally.
    One day the Holy Family was passing through a windswept field. The Blessed Virgin lost the pin of her coat which she had wrapped round the Holy Infant. She asked a cowherd for a thorn that would do in place of a pin. He said he was too busy minding his cows to look for one. A second cowherd made the same excuse. As they were passing a forge a blacksmith came out and saw
