  1. There are many old prayers which were said by the old people and which were not put print. Some were said when going to bed and when getting up, when raking the fire, when beginning work, or when passing the Chapel.
    Going to bed.
    "As I lay down to take my sleep,
    I pray to God my soul to keep.
    If any evil happens me.
    O blessed Lady waken me.
    There are four corners on my bed
    There are four angels on them spread
    Mathew, Mark Luke and John,
    God Bless this bed I lay down upon
