  1. Churning
    My mother does the churning usually and if she churns on Saturday we help her.
    If strangers come in during churning they take the dash and churn for a few minutes. It is an old saying that the person might take the butter. You should never bring a coal out in a pipe while a person is churning because you might bring the butter out of the churn.
    The churning takes a half hour at least. The dash in our churn is moved up
