  1. New Years Eve people are very busy trying to have everything settled up and to leave nothing undone for New Years Day. The old people always to give up all bad deeds and start the New Year well. If you start it bad you will end it the same way.
    Early on that night all bands go out and beat out the old year and after twelve o'clock they beat in the new one.
    That night every room in every house is lighted.
