    Her step was like the gentle fawn,
    Her robe was like the swan
    Her neck was whiter that the foam
    Lough Gara's waves float on:
    Her cheeks were like the primrose gay,
    Here teeth of pearly white,
    Her eyes were like the fairy shades
    On Gara's waves at night.
    Her glance was milder than the dawn
    On Tully's heath clad hill;
    Her heart was purer than the wave on Brackloon's rippling rill:
    Her hair was darker than the wave that breaks on Gara's shore:
