  1. 6) May Morning:-
    Before the sun rises on May morning some people in my locality go to the four corners of their farms and pour salt and water or holy water at each corner.
    The pisreóg is that by doing so the cattle cannot be brought that year.

    7) It brings good luck if a dark-haired person enters the house that morning.

    8) I know a woman who considers it lucky if she had the first can of water out of the well on that morning.

    9) If butter were being made a visitor would not be allowed to leave the house while smoking his pipe.

    10) It was practiced by some women. They need to rise before the sun and skim the well. This ensured the neighbours butter.
