    two friendly Peers to help him and they put their names to his notice of Motion. There were only three days left in which it would be possible to pass it into the law. Tully was not to be baffled and the House did not rise on each of these nights until four or five o'clock in the morning. Tully hung on to his work all the time, and at last was able to get the Amendment through in the Lords, and thus it became the law of the land.
