  1. (continued from previous page)
    From Eastersnow to Silverroe
    And all around Knockadoo,
    Jail Flags, Ross Lane,
    Main Street and Drum, adieu!
The real and true is wrapped in you
    With grim death's icy coil,
Their glory too will yet illume
The hills and dales of Boyle.
    VIII
    Farewell, farewell, old friendly town,
    We never more shall meet.
And I shall wish to see again
    One sight of Chapel Street,
Now speed me off to Assylin,
    Theredrops a farewell tear,
O'er he who sleeps his last sweet sleep
    My father fond a dear.
    Farewell, farewell old Chapel,
Where first I knelt to pray.
    Where'er I'll be I'll pray for thee
    Be my lot what e'er it (be) may;
When driven from my native town,
    In foreign lands to toil,
But in foreign lands with upraised hands
    I'll pray success to Boyle."
The above was written by Patrick Hynes, who used to live in Chapel St, Boyle, before he went to Australia
