    the gravel and stones were swept from the lanes and roads and in the morning they were (drifted) on either side of the school playground.
    The road form Briscoli bridge up to Sconce was like a second river coming down the mountain. The flood swept Briscoli bridge with it and the road had to be fenced in till the County Council had an opportunity to get it rebuilt.
