  2. There was an old school where Allenwood chapel is now. It was there in the year 1896, and there were one hundred and sixty children going to it, and the teacher's name was Mr Blake. The subjects taught were, Geography, Grammer, English, Writing and Arithemetic. The teacher was paid by the Government.
