  1. People began to wear boots in olden times at the age of sixteen years.
    Some people never wore boots at all. Children go barefooted nowadays in the Summer time.
    The water that is used for washing the feet is usually thrown out. Boots used to be made in our district, but they are not made now, they are only repaired. There are three boot and shoe repairers in our district. This has been in their families for many generations.
    Clogs were made and worn locally long ago, and are still made by a man in Newbliss. They are still worn because they the feet dry.
