  1. In the district of Keenogue, Inniskeen, Co Monaghan, there was a school held in a field at the back of Peter McGuire's house, Keenogue, Inniskeen, Co Monaghan. There was a slate in it instead of a blackboard. Irish and English were taught in this school. The schoolmaster's name cannot be remembered by my informant. In this school the scholars usually stood around the teacher.
    In the district of Rocksavage, Inniskeen, Co Monaghan, there is an old lane, and in this lane a school took place regularly. The schoolmaster's name was Kelly he was a stranger. The people around the school used to lodge the master and feed him. Irish and English were also taught in this school.
