  1. Long ago there was a man living in Mount Rathe House which is adjoining Kilmacahill. When he died the people got six horses to pull the hearse and when he was going over the srúlín (a little stream) the six horses pulled it so far but not further. They had to get the priest's horse to pull it across the stream. He was buried in Kilmacahill churchyard. There is a big flat tombstone over the grave. There is the head of a pig carved out on the stone.
