- There is not many home-made toys made around here because mechanical toys are so cheap. The catapult is one which is not being sold in the shops. It can be easily made from two strips of rubber, a fork of a small bough, and a piece of leather. A strip of rubber ten inches long and about ½ inch wide should be tied to the fork. The other end must be tied to the piece of leather by putting a slit about ½ inch wide in the leather and putting the rubber through it. The rubber is doubled up and tied the same is done with the other strip.[Drawing] - Finished catapult(continues on next page)
