  1. Riddles
Andy Coughlan, 67 Walkin Street, Kilkenny
I heard the following riddles at home from my father ( 36 years) and mother. (35 years)
    1. What goes round the wood and round the wood and never gets into the wood? The bark of a tree.
    2. Headed like a thimble, tailed like a rat, you can guess for ever but you won't guess that. A pipe.
    3. When were there only two vowels?
In the time of Noah, which was before "U" and "I" were born.
    4. What is as bad as a hen stealing? A cock robin.
    5. Why are seeds, planted in the sod, like a gate-post? They both propagate.
    6. What is the difference between a camera and the measles? One makes fac-similes and the other makes sick families.
    7. What walks miles and miles and has a tongue and never talks? A boot.
