  1. Long ago a steeple - chase was held in Windgap. There was great preparation for this chase which lasted three days. This steeple - chase was started on a windy March day. The morning was cold and windy when the horses set off towards the hills of Kilkenny. The snowy tops of the Comeragh Mountains shone out in the distance and the chasers galloped off towards Kilkenny. The chase existed for three whole days and during that time there was some great sport. A small group of police were present at
