    going home from a house where he used to be "rambling" every night in the winter months. He had to cross some fields and one very dark night he lost his way and could not find the stile. He was going around for a good part of the night and thought he was in the one field all the time. His hat blew off with the wind and as it did he heard a voice saying "Go back." He at once turned back and groped around the ditches again for a while. In the end his arm was caught and a voice said.
    "Come with me" He was led
