The daisies in the meadow wave
    In dear old Muckalee
    4
    I see again old Keatingstown
    With Acres down below
    Where Buxtown and Ballintubber
    Joined the dances long ago
    The tillers they are working
    In the fields of Ballintubber
And the noon-day sun is shining
    O'er the hills of Muckalee
    5
    On the road to Castlegannon
    Withing a hallowed dell
    I see the homestead shining
    Round Knockmoylan and Lukeswell
And the mail-train goes a puffing
Trailing smoke o'er glade and lea
Oft' in days of yore I watched it
    From the hills of Muckalee
    6
Rochestown and Ballinacooly and Poulanassey water-fall
The rambling of my boy-hood days
    Their memory now recall
In the streams of old Clonassey
Where the trout jumps with glee
