A priest used to hide at Bolgers of Ballinabarn Inistioge Co. Kilkenny when the soldiers used to be after him. The vestments and chalice are still to be seen there.

In the penal times Mass was celebrated down in Tintine at a place they called the Celler, half ways between New Ross and Graignamanagh. The priest lived there between two cliffs of a rock.
